Grocery Dollars
Pay Online
The Grocery Dollar program is one of Romona PTA's biggest fundraisers~ Everyone needs to eat!

Participating stores include: Dominick's, Jewel, Fresh Market, and Super H Mart.

Grocery Dollars are store cards you purchase from the PTA, to use for your grocery shopping. We purchase the cards at a volume discount, sell them at face value, and keep the difference as profit. You get dollar for dollar, while Romona children benefit! You can choose between backpack express or home delivery of your cards.

To pay by check, download this form and return it to the front office. To pay by credit card, click on icon to the left.
Grocery Dollar$ Program
Enriching your children's education one grocery store visit at a time.

What are Grocery Dollars?
Grocery Dollars are store cards you purchase to buy your monthly groceries. Jewel, Dominick’s, The Fresh Market, and Super H Mart cards are available in $50 and $100 denominations.

How does the Grocery Dollars Program work?
Each month families place orders through the Romona PTA for Grocery Dollar store cards from the store(s) of their choice; Jewel, Dominick’s, Fresh Market, or Super H Mart. The orders are then tallied and placed with the individual retailers. Because of our combined purchasing power, we are able to purchase cards at a discounted rate with the Romona PTA keeping the difference as a profit. This difference adds up very quickly!

How does the Grocery Dollar Program benefit Romona School?
The Romona PTA purchases the cards at a volume discount, sells them at face value, and keeps the difference as profit. For example, for every $100 Dominick’s grocery card sold the PTA receives 5%, or $5.00. Profits from the Grocery Dollar Program provide enrichment activities for our children including field trips, special in-school presentations and purchases for teachers and their classrooms.

The Possibilities ...
Grocery Dollar Annual 200 Families

Purchase with Check      Contribution        Annual Contribution      Purchase with Credit Card       Contribution          Annual Contribution

Just imagine, if 200 families at Romona subscribed for 12 months at the $300 level and paid by check, the Romona PTA would raise $36,000 - that’s our entire operating budget and it didn’t cost you any more time or money than your already spending doing what we all already do – grocery shop!

How do the store cards work?
The Grocery Dollar store cards work just like cash. Keep them in your wallet and use them instead of cash, check, or credit card to pay for your groceries and other items, including prescriptions, at the register. You can combine two or more gift cards to pay for your bill. Or, you can pay a portion of your total with a store card and the balance with cash, check, or credit card. Gift cards retain any unused balance until your next trip to the store and they never expire.

How do I pay for Grocery Dollars?
The Grocery Dollars Program offers payment by check or credit card. Payments by check are strongly encouraged and appreciated as we receive the full 5% profit for the school. Due to credit card processing fees, credit card payments provide a 2.5% profit for the school.

Check Payments
If you pay by check, simply complete the Grocery Dollars Subscription Form and include your first check payment with your order. You may either deliver your check, along with the completed form, directly to the school and place it in the mailbox labeled “Grocery Dollars” in the front office OR you may have your check sent directly through electronic bill pay, should your bank offer that service. All Grocery Dollar payments are due by the 1st Friday of every month. After your first payment, you will be invoiced one week ahead of the due date and your check should then be delivered through the above mentioned options. Payments by check result in a 5% profit for the school.

Credit Card Payments
If you choose to pay by credit card, click on the icon above. You will first be asked what type of delivery you would like: home or backpack express. Then select the store cards and denominations you would like to purchase and click on “buy now”. When you are ready to “checkout” you will be asked for your credit card information – that’s it! Due to credit card fees paid by the Romona PTA, credit card subscriptions provide a 2 ½ % profit for the school and that is why we require a $200 minimum purchase for credit card payments.

How are the cards delivered?
Grocery Dollars can be delivered through your children’s backpack on a monthly schedule or by home delivery. Indicate which form of delivery you would prefer, if downloading a form and paying by check. If paying online, you will be asked before selecting your cards.
