Our Mission
Romona PTA Mission:

Through open communication with our Romona educators, our Romona School PTA seeks to support and provide enriching programs and community building events for our Romona children that expand and compliment the educational opportunities provided for them. In all our endeavors we respectfully embrace and celebrate each one of our community members unique and diverse culture, ability, and interest.

Romona PTA Vision and Commitment:

The Romona School PTA is a non-profit group made up of parents who act upon the belief that parent involvement greatly enhances the education of all children. While we want our children to succeed academically, we know that is merely a small part of our much larger responsibility. Through our example, we are able to teach our children excellent citizenship, not only for our community, but also for our world at large – TOGETHER!

·       We strive to bring into closer relation the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth and unite their efforts to secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education.

·       We are a community diverse in talents, cultures, and interests that encourages all members to contribute their ideas for the benefit of enrichment for and to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community.

·       We welcome newcomers warmly and are open to the needs of all persons; children, parents and educators, in an environment that is comfortable and dignified as we search for new ways to enliven and enhance our community.

·       We seek to form powerful relationships within our Wilmette community so that as neighbors and citizens we can work together, to help each other, be our best.

·       The PTA is a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.  We are a local unit of the Illinois PTA and part of the National PTA and seek to compliment and support their vision of Making every child’s potential a reality.
