| Winterfest Carnival
When: Saturday, January 21, 2012 Time: 12p-3p Where: Romona Elementary
The
2012 Winterfest Carnival Committee has started the preparation for
Romona’s Winterfest Carnival celebration. The Winterfest Carnival has
proved to be our schools must attend event! The children love to be at
school on a non-school day, seeing friends, playing games and showing
off their school to their family. It also provides an opportunity to
meet the families of the other children, mingle with our Principal,
Heather Glowacki and other Romona staff members, and visit with Romona
Alumni as many return to support and celebrate our Romona Community and
pride!!! There are many opportunities for you to support this incredible
event. We will be looking for volunteers for the day, and most
importantly, your families’ attendance!
Volunteer to run a booth or serve food!
We will be looking for volunteers for 11⁄2 hour shifts and we welcome
and encourage parents, grandparents, caregivers, Romona 4th graders, and
Romona Alumni (Highcrest, Wilmette Jr. High Students, and other Romona
Graduates) to volunteer. This is a great way to mingle, get to know our children’s classmates and friends, or visit your old stomping ground!
If you are able to volunteer, please email: winterfest@romonapta.org.
And finally, purchase your Teacherpalooza tickets!
Our teachers and staff have generously donated their time and resources
to provide a special activity with our children, outside of the
classroom, in many fun and creative ways!
The
Winterfest Carnival is a community-wide event, so please encourage your
friends, neighbors, and family to join in our celebration – it’s really
fun for all ages! Thank you in advance for any help that you can
provide – looking forward to seeing you all there!
Sincerely, 2012 Winterfest Carnival Committee
As
with all money raised by the PTA, this money enhances the school
experience for all Romona children. Field trips, assemblies, the
Multicultural Potluck, the Publishing Center, the Civics and Safety
Committee (Bike Safety Rodeo for 2nd graders), the 4th Grade party and
DVD are all annual programs funded by the PTA. In addition, PTA monies
are used to support onetime projects such as the Outdoor Classroom, the
Early Childhood Playground, and the Smartboards that enrich and enhance
our children’s school experience every day!
